Alternatives to Violence on the Palouse is Seeking Volunteers for the Holidays
A local organization, Alternatives to Violence on the Palouse (ATVP) is seeking volunteers for their 6th annual Home for the Holidays fundraiser that takes place on December 7th. This yearly fundraiser will raise money for services offered by ATVP. This fundraiser is put on every year in order to for all family members in the community have something to enjoy when they come home for the holidays hence the name of the fundraiser. There aren’t many holiday events that offer family-friendly events as well as separate events for children and adults.
This event has so many options for everyone — both kids and adults. They have a playroom for the kids to enjoy and a quiet room for adults to relax and spend time with other parents. They offer music, food, drinks, raffle tickets. and bidding on gingerbread houses. Tickets are $20 for all who want to attend. Tickets can be purchased at the door or on their website at atvp.org.
ATVP offers free confidential services for family and sexual violence victims and survivors as well as their children. They encourage all who are dealing with these types of issues to come forward and seek their help. If they don’t have the tools or resources to help you they will point you in the right direction Services are also offered for family, friends and community members of those who aren’t seeking help. They also offer 24 hours emergency support services as well as educational programs that are focused on increasing awareness on preventing family violence and sexual violence.
