What are people's reasons for attending graduate school? What are people's reasons for not attending graduate school?

I wanted the connections in my field, I need the higher degree to teach, and I wanted a grad program to help immerse me in the writing world and help me figure out exactly what it is that I want to do. Undergrad gave me a great overview, but grad school is great for giving a narrow lens on a field and showing you how to survive!!
I'm attending graduate school because I'd like to have more focused attention from professors and make closer relationships between them and my work, I know that graduate degrees almost always lead to higher salaries down the road (regardless of field, usually), and I just really enjoy school and enjoy working on/near college campuses. I've gotten a huge amount out of my undergraduate career and I'm curious to see what I can accomplish as a grad student. I'm hoping to publish a book as well, so that's the end goal of my MFA program in creative writing, and I know I'll be able to get more resources to help me get into the careers I'm interested in. Grad school can give you more connections and professional experience.
As someone that's attending graduate school, I largely decided to return to school because my employer reimburses tuition. However, I also decided to continue my education in order to increase my salary and to move my career in a different direction. With a Master's degree, I'm more marketable to the types of positions that I'd like to transition into, so this was a good, next step for me.
